Margot - my Haberdasher Doll for my business cards…… I should be working really!
I should be making more, I should be creating items that people will love and want to own….but what am I doing? Making a business card holder for my shop front! I have made Haberdasherdolls before, with pocketed aprons for crafters to house hooks, needles, thread snippers etc, but today I thought I would create one just for me and my business cards. So this is my business card holder, Haberdasher Dolls and she’s called Margot and I love her!
Once upon a lifetime…
It all begins with an idea.
This is my lifetime and as far back as I can remember, I have made things, created things, drawn, painted, crocheted, scrapbooked, created altered art; creativity has been in my veins. My Dad is arty, he taught me to draw horses when I was a child and is a good watercolour artist. My Nan crocheted, my Mum knits (though have yet to ever behold a finished knitted item). I have always loved art, but back in the late 80’s going to Art College wasn’t a serious option, and learning all things secretarial, was.
Roll the clock forward some (many) years, and now I am in my 50’s and it’s about time I started selling what I make so that others can enjoy my creations. I have sold art work before, gifted my creations but now, at my time of life, I want to work for myself and be my own boss for a change, so Wyndways Designs has been created. I have a few skills under my belt, and it’s about time I brought these to the forefront of my life, not just ‘something I do in the evenings’ so sit back and have a browse around. It is early days but my wares are being created and the range will expand.
